During the end of juli 2022 I made a short trip to the Vorharz area. It was originally to be a trip towards Poland, however due to increasing uncertainties we decided to change out destination just 2 days before the trip. There was a temporary hauled passenger service on the RE21 with br218’s and we also liked the Blue Tiger loco’s still running there. But most of all, we liked the towns over there so we stayed in the middle of the historical city centre of Wernigerode.
On friday the 22nd we were in the Oker valley awaiting both HVLE trains heading towards Goslar. For the 95239 lime train towards Salzgitter we went to the dug out on the city edge of Goslar. As this was a cast with lots of clouds (the next day it would be sunny again), taking a photo here would be possible without getting too much annoying shadows on the train. A couple of minutes late the train entered the city, thereby passing our camera’s.
